Schmidt:
We made the decision to pull the ads out of Michigan because we can't win there. We need the money in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
Palin:
You're making a big mistake. You know I know I'm not an expert so seeing as we're seven points out I don't see why the vice presidential campaign can't make a quick stop there in the middle of the night.
Schmidt:
And who are you going to meet with? Your press core doesn't want to hear you speak at 3 o'clock in the morning. And there's no such thing as a vice presidential campaign; this is John McCain's campaign and this is a decision John McCain has made. You must stick to the script governor.
Palin:
And what script is that Steve? Because I haven't seen anything resembling a script this entire flipping campaign.
Schmidt:
When you publically contradict John McCain you hurt John McCain.
